# All Saints, Tattersett

All Saints is a Grade I parish church standing in fields about half a mile from Tattersett, Norfolk, in the Diocese of Norwich. Historic England has placed the building on the Heritage at Risk register.

## Overview

The listing describes thirteenth-century fabric with thirteenth-century and Perpendicular details: a west tower, nave with south peninsula porch, and chancel. The tower is flint with stone dressings, quoins, and south and west lancets; belfry windows are square-headed and the parapet is brick and battlemented. The nave is slated and the chancel has black glazed pantiles. Roofs were later lowered from the pitch still visible on the tower and nave gables. The south porch reuses c.1300 jambs and arch in later Perpendicular flint and squared-stone walls.

Inside, the tower has a recut round arch. There is an undecorated fifteenth-century octagonal font and a fifteenth-century wall painting on the south wall showing three figures over a martyrdom, identified as perhaps St Erasmus. Chancel-arch jambs are c.1300 with a later Decorated or Perpendicular arch; Perpendicular rood-stair doors survive. The chancel has a chamfered brick sedilia and piscina. Benches and stalls date from a 1909 restoration. The church has no electricity or running water; a parish restoration campaign is addressing failed flashings, flintwork and the decaying wall painting.
