# St Thomas of Canterbury, Frisby on the Wreake

St Thomas of Canterbury is a Grade I parish church on Church Lane in Frisby on the Wreake, Leicestershire, in the Diocese of Leicester. It stands in an elevated churchyard within the village conservation area.

## Overview

The Historic England listing, as published by British Listed Buildings, describes a parish church of the twelfth to fifteenth centuries. The north aisle was rebuilt about 1820 and the chancel rebuilt by H. I. Stevens in 1848. Fabric is coursed and squared ironstone with ashlar dressings and lead roofs. The plan includes nave, aisles, chancel and a chapel, with fourteenth- and fifteenth-century windows, a late fifteenth-century east window with panel tracery, and restored fifteenth-century roofs with arched tie beams and bosses.

Interior fittings recorded in the listing include a fourteenth-century chancel arch, an aumbry, and stained glass of 1896 and 1927 in the north aisle. The church occupies a prominent site at the eastern end of Church Lane. It remains an active parish church.
