# St Rumon, Ruanlanihorne

St Rumon’s Church in Ruan Lanihorne, Cornwall, is a Grade I parish church of the thirteenth to fifteenth centuries, partly rebuilt after a seventeenth-century storm, in the Diocese of Truro.

## Overview

Historic England describes a church dedicated to St Rumon, of thirteenth- and fourteenth-century fabric, partly rebuilt in the seventeenth century and restored in the nineteenth. Walls are slatestone with granite quoins under Delabole slate roofs. The plan comprises nave, chancel, west tower, north aisle, south transept and south porch. The north aisle has fifteenth-century granite windows. The porch is dated 1669. The thirteenth-century tower lost its upper stage in a storm of 1658 and was rebuilt in 1675; a sundial of 1743 sits over the south buttress.

Inside, a six-bay standard A-type arcade has four-centred arches and varied carved capitals. Roofs of about 1868 incorporate fifteenth-century carved bracing from the original wagon roofs. A squint links the south transept to the chancel. The font, possibly fourteenth century, has a cover made from fifteenth-century roof braces. The church is part of the Roseland Benefice.
