The parish website records a Sunday school founded in 1960; worship from 1963 in the same building as All Saints; a Conventional District in 1965; the present church dedicated to St Richard of Chichester in 1969; and a parish from 1971. The Twentieth Century Society records Gordon Thorne as architect, the building completed in 1969, and listing grade NL (not listed). The National Churches Trust describes a minimalist building of large greyish stone-like blocks, seating about two hundred, with stones from York, Canterbury, Chichester and Manchester cathedrals set into the interior walls. No National Heritage List for England entry was found. The church is part of the Church of England in Wythenshawe.
