Overview
Malin Bridge originally lay in the parish of Wadsley. Wikipedia records that a separate parish was created in 1933 as the population grew. A tin tabernacle had served the area; fundraising then paid for a permanent church. The foundation stone was laid by the Bishop of Sheffield. H. I. Potter of Fowler, Sandford and Potter designed the building in 1933–34. The former tin church remained in use as a hall until a new hall was built beside the church in the 1960s.
The church is of rustic brick with a pantile roof and has neither tower nor spire. Windows are grouped in threes. The interior is a four-bay nave and a broad chancel with a tall arch. A small glazed porch was added at the west end in 1992. The National Churches Trust notes a Sheffield Flood memorial listing those who died at Malin Bridge, together with war memorials for both world wars.
