# St Peter, Petersham

St Peter’s is the Grade II* parish church of Petersham, in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames and the Diocese of Southwark.

## Overview

Historic England lists a small, mainly brick church (1065334, 10 January 1950). The chancel dates from 1505. The nave was rebuilt and enlarged in the eighteenth century and in 1810 so that the greater length of the church stands at right angles to the chancel. The tower is battlemented, with an octagonal bell cupola and lead ogee dome. The parish church retains Georgian box pews and a two-decker pulpit of 1796. Parts of the chancel are earlier than the sixteenth-century body; Domesday Book has been taken to imply a church on the site in the late Saxon period. The parish website is stpeterschurchpetersham.com.
