# St Peter, East Stockwith

St Peter’s is the Grade II parish church of East Stockwith, West Lindsey, a complete Early English Revival church of 1846 by Thomas Johnson of Lichfield, in the Diocese of Lincoln.

## Overview

Historic England lists a parish church of 1846 by T. Johnson, with an addition of 1898, built of rock-faced limestone ashlar with slate roofs. The plan is nave, chancel, north porch, vestry and a turret at the south-east end of the nave, all in the Early English style, with lancets and a triple stepped east window. The church was listed Grade II on 23 May 1985 (list entry 1317217).

Lincolnshire’s Historic Environment Record notes stone outside and brick inside. The east window stained glass is by William Wailes and dated 1846. Pews, screen, brass lectern and font are nineteenth-century.

The legal parish is East Stockwith, one of eight parishes in the Trentcliffe Group.
