Overview
Coflein, as cited by People’s Collection Wales, records a church of 1856–57 by R. K. Penson, of roughly coursed Pennant sandstone with Bath stone dressings and slate roofs, nave and chancel in one, and an overhanging west bell gable, with Geometrical tracery. A gabled south aisle and porch were added in 1882 by J. Bacon Fowler. The parish website and National Churches Trust state that it opened in 1856 as a chapel of ease to St Mary’s, Swansea, on land from John Dillwyn Llewelyn of Penllergare; the parish was formed from St Mary’s in 1878. A mosaic rood crucifix by John Petts hangs in the church. No Cadw listed-building entry was found for this church. The parish site is cockettparish.org.uk.
