# St Pabo, Llanbabo

St Pabo is a Grade II* Church in Wales church in a circular llan at Llanbabo, Anglesey, a scarcely altered medieval church in the Diocese of Bangor.

## Overview

Cadw lists the church (5354, 12 May 1970) as a medieval rural church recorded in the Norwich Valuation of 1254, with predominantly twelfth-century walls, a twelfth-century south window, and fragments of chevron reset over the south doorway. The east wall was rebuilt in the fourteenth century; the east window is fourteenth-century and a south window is late fourteenth or early fifteenth century. The interior retains medieval arch-braced trusses and a twelfth-century font. A fourteenth-century monument to St Pabo, showing a crowned figure with sceptre, was found in the churchyard in the later seventeenth century. Harold Hughes restored and re-roofed the church in 1909; fittings are dated 1911. Cadw lists it II* as a good, scarcely altered simple medieval church and an important Anglesey survivor of nineteenth-century rebuilding.
