# St Nicholas, Droitwich Spa

St Nicholas is a Victorian Church of England church on Ombersley Road, opposite Droitwich Spa railway station, in the Diocese of Worcester. Church Heritage Record confirms it is not a listed building.

## Overview

The Worcestershire and Dudley Historic Churches Trust records a church built to designs of the local architect John Smith in 1866 to serve the expanding west side of the town; original plans included a spire that was never built. The foundation stone was laid on 29 May 1867. The Worcester Journal reported consecration on 14 December 1869, with a font carved by Forsyth of Worcester from the architect’s designs. The dedication continues that of a lost medieval church of St Nicholas, destroyed in the Civil War, whose last traces were cleared earlier in the nineteenth century.

The Incorporated Church Building Society supported the build. The parish is Droitwich Spa. There is no Historic England list entry.
