# St Nicholas, Bulwick

St Nicholas is a Grade I parish church on Main Street in Bulwick, Northamptonshire, in the Diocese of Peterborough and the parish of Bulwick and Blatherwycke.

## Overview

Historic England records a thirteenth- and fourteenth-century church restored about 1863, of squared coursed limestone with ashlar aisles, spire and tower, and lead and Collyweston slate roofs. The plan is an aisled nave, chancel, west tower and south porch. The south elevation of the chancel has a two-window range; the five-light east window has intersecting tracery with cusping and a quatrefoil circle. The south aisle is of four bays with three-light windows under two-centred heads with panel tracery.

The west tower has a castellated parapet with gargoyles and a set-back octagonal spire with roll mouldings at the angles. Internally a three-bay arcade has chamfered arches; the listing notes early thirteenth-century work with capitals. The church remains in regular use and stands on the north side of the village street.
