# St Michael & All Angels, All Stretton

St Michael and All Angels is a small hillside church on Shrewsbury Road, All Stretton, Shropshire, in the Parish of Church Stretton and the Diocese of Hereford: opened in 1902 as an Anglican church and since 1994 a Local Ecumenical Partnership with the United Reformed Church.

## Overview

The Stretton Parish history states that the church opened in 1902 as an Anglican church, built of stone from the local quarry and set in a hillside garden about 280 metres from the centre of the village. The All Stretton Village Design Statement (2017) describes it as an attractive building of 1902 on the hillside above the B5477. When the United Reformed chapel on The Row needed extensive repair in the 1980s, St Michael’s offered shared use; the two congregations later merged, and a formal Local Ecumenical Partnership was established in 1994. The former URC building was converted to a private dwelling. The church is not separately listed; listed buildings in the village do not include it. The benefice is united with St Laurence, Church Stretton, and All Saints, Little Stretton.

The church is open most days, with a Sunday service at 10.30 and coffee afterwards.
