Overview
The listing records mid-thirteenth-century nave arcades (the north earlier), with the chancel rebuilt and the aisles, west tower and parts of the arcades recast in the fifteenth century. The south porch and north vestry date from about 1500; the vestry originated as a chapel associated with John de Stilton around 1338. The chancel and vestry were shortened in 1808. A west gallery was removed in 1857; further restoration followed in 1887–88 and the south aisle was partly rebuilt in 1908. Walls are limestone rubble with Barnack and Ketton ashlar; the four-stage embattled west tower once had a squat pyramidal spire, gone by 1885. Chancel and nave are misaligned. The church was listed Grade II* on 13 December 1957 (NHLE 1215661). The parish is Stilton with Denton and Caldecote, in the Stilton Group of Churches.
