Overview

The church stands in the village centre immediately south of Llanvair Castle. It was rebuilt in 1865 with nave and chancel, south porch, north vestry and bell turret, in Early English style. An inscription over the porch carries the date 1746, a remnant of earlier fabric. Cadw listed the church at Grade II on 29 March 2000 (record 23040). The small settlement, whose Welsh name is Llanfair Disgoed, lies between Caerwent and Wentwood.
