# St Mary, Linton

St Mary the Virgin on Church Lane, Linton, Cambridgeshire, is a Grade I parish church of flint rubble built between the twelfth and sixteenth centuries, in the Diocese of Ely.

## Overview

Historic England lists the Parish Church of St Mary the Virgin, Church Lane, as Grade I (NHLE 1162094; listed 22 November 1967). The listing describes walls of flint rubble with dressings of clunch and limestone. South Cambridgeshire’s conservation-area appraisal states that the church was built between the twelfth and sixteenth centuries of flint rubble with limestone dressings, with a large square tower, clerestory and embattled parapets. The church’s own history page is at stmaryslinton.org.uk. D1 records the county as Cambridgeshire (postcode CB21 4JX), matching Linton near Cambridge rather than Linton in Herefordshire (NHLE 1167319). The legal parish is Linton in the Diocese of Ely.
