Overview
St Mary's Church is a Grade II listed building located in Pulford, Cheshire, England. It was built between 1881 and 1884 by architect John Douglas, with funding from the 1st Duke of Westminster. The church is an active Anglican parish in the diocese of Chester. In the 1990s, the spire was destroyed by fire and subsequently rebuilt.
The church is constructed with red sandstone and features a cruciform plan. It has a large tower with a spire and octagonal corner spirelets. The interior includes a monochrome reredos by Shrigley and Hunt, stained glass windows by Heaton, Butler and Bayne, and a memorial board by the Randle Holme family of Chester.
The churchyard contains a sundial dating back to 1702 and a war grave of a Royal Welsh Fusiliers soldier from World War I. The earthworks of Pulford Castle can also be found to the south of the church.
