# St Mary, Attenborough

St Mary the Virgin on Church Lane, Attenborough, is a Grade I parish church of dressed stone and ashlar with copper and tile roofs, in the Diocese of Southwell and Nottingham.

## Overview

Historic England records a parish church of the twelfth to twentieth centuries, restored in 1869, re-roofed in 1947–53, with vestries of 1954 and repewing in 1955. The plan is a west tower, vestries, nave, chancel, organ chamber, north and south aisles and south porch. The fifteenth-century west tower has a set-back octagonal spire (rebuilt 1848 according to the listed-buildings summary for the ward). The interior includes a reset twelfth-century door with scrollwork hinges. Listed Grade I on 14 April 1987 (NHLE 1263869).
