Overview

Historic England records a parish church of 1882 by Sir Arthur Blomfield in the Early English style: square ironstone rubble with limestone ashlar dressings and plain tiled roofs. The plan is a nave with an eastern bellcote, chancel, south porch and vestry. The west end has a pair of lancets with a sexfoil over, united under a pointed arch. A gabled south porch has a niche with a statue of St Martin. A foundation stone was laid by Nathaniel Clayton in 1882.

Almost all fittings are nineteenth-century except a fourteenth-century octagonal font bowl decorated with quatrefoils and shields, retained from the previous church nearby. East and west windows have stained glass of about 1915.
