# St Martin, Droylsden

St Martin’s is a mid-twentieth-century Church of England parish church on Greenside Lane, Droylsden, Greater Manchester, in the Diocese of Manchester.

## Overview

The congregation was founded in 1943. Worship first used a wooden billiard hall on the same site; after that building burned down a Nissen hut served for some years until the present church was built in the late 1950s. The dedication commemorates the first curate, Martin Cooper; early baptisms, marriages and funerals were conducted at St Mary’s, Droylsden. GENUKI records the site at OS grid SJ 896 991 and notes that the church has no graveyard.

The building is not on the National Heritage List for England. It remains an active parish church in the benefice of Droylsden St Andrew and Droylsden St Martin, with level access and toilets reported for visitors.
