Overview
The congregation was founded in 1943. Worship first used a wooden billiard hall on the same site; after that building burned down a Nissen hut served for some years until the present church was built in the late 1950s. The dedication commemorates the first curate, Martin Cooper; early baptisms, marriages and funerals were conducted at St Mary’s, Droylsden. The building is not on the National Heritage List for England. It remains an active parish church in the benefice of Droylsden St Andrew and Droylsden St Martin, with level access and toilets reported for visitors.
