# St Luke, Millwall

St Luke's is a Church of England church on Alpha Grove, Millwall, Isle of Dogs, in the Diocese of London and the parish of Christ and St John with St Luke.

## Overview

The first St Luke's was built in 1868 on land given by Lady Margaret Charteris and Lord Stafford, to designs by E L Blackburne, in an early pointed Gothic style with Kentish rag exterior and a tower and spire. That church was bombed in the Second World War and later demolished. A successor building served until 2012. The last remains of the old church were demolished in 2014.

The present church opened in October 2018 as part of a mixed development with housing, and was blessed by the Bishop of Stepney. The worship space is at first-floor level in a glazed volume designed by Phelan Architects. The Church Heritage Record states that the building is not listed.
