# St James the Great, Snitterfield

St James the Great is the Grade I parish church of Snitterfield, Warwickshire, a church of about 1300 with a later medieval west tower, in the Diocese of Coventry.

## Overview

Historic England lists the church (1382171, 5 April 1967). The chancel is about 1300; the nave and aisles are early fourteenth-century with a fifteenth-century clerestory; the west tower is late fourteenth- to fifteenth-century, with eighteenth-century and about 1860 restorations. Materials are coursed limestone with ashlar dressings and old tile roofs. The four-bay nave has contrasting arcades: octagonal piers to the north and shafted piers with unusual capitals to the south. Monuments include eighteenth-century hatchments to the Earls of Coventry. The parish website is snitterfield.com.
