# St Helen, Burgh on Bain

St Helen’s is a Grade II* Church of England parish church on Main Road, Burgh on Bain, East Lindsey, Lincolnshire, in the Diocese of Lincoln.

## Overview

Historic England lists a parish church of the eleventh, thirteenth, fourteenth and sixteenth centuries, restored in 1871–72 (NHLE 1359948; listed 9 March 1967). The fabric is coursed and squared limestone rubble with slate roofs: western tower, nave, aisles and chancel. The listing records an eleventh-century tower arch with a plain rounded head, a thirteenth-century south arcade (the north arcade a nineteenth-century copy), and a date of 1871 on the tower. Lincolnshire Heritage Explorer notes a Norman tower arch and blocked north-aisle door, a thirteenth-century arcade and a fifteenth-century chancel. The parish is Burgh on Bain, in the Southwolds group of churches.
