# St Creden, Sancreed

The Church of Saint Credan at Sancreed, west of Penzance in Cornwall, is a Grade II* Perpendicular parish church with a late fourteenth- or early fifteenth-century tower, restored by J. D. Sedding in 1881–91, in the Diocese of Truro.

## Overview

Historic England records a parish church with a Norman font and a reset Norman doorway in the north wall, a late fourteenth- or early fifteenth-century unbuttressed embattled west tower, otherwise fifteenth-century fabric largely rebuilt in Sedding’s restoration of 1881–91. Materials are granite ashlar to the tower, dressed granite and rubble elsewhere, and dry Delabole slate roofs. The plan has nave and chancel in one, south aisle, south porch and north transept. Fittings include a Norman font with four angels holding shields and the fifteenth-century carved base of a former rood screen. The churchyard holds several listed and scheduled crosses. Listed Grade II* (NHLE 1143822). The parish is Sancreed in the Diocese of Truro.
