## St Chad Church, Whitchurch

St Chad's Church is an active Anglican parish church located on Chester Road (the A41) in Whitchurch, Shropshire, England.


### Overview

St Chad's Church is an active Anglican parish church located on Chester Road (the A41) in Whitchurch, Shropshire, England. It was built between 1860 and 1863 to a design by Robert Jennings of Atherstone, with the tower added in 1897 by Hodgson Fowler. 

The church is constructed in red sandstone with a cruciform plan and features lancet windows in Early English style. Inside, there is a plastered interior with stone dressings, and the west tower serves as a baptistry with an octagonal font. The church is designated as a Grade II listed building. 

It is part of the deanery of Malpas, the archdeaconry of Chester, and the diocese of Chester, and its benefice is combined with those of St Michael, Marbury, and St Mary, Whitewell. The church also houses stained glass windows by Kempe and a ring of six bells cast by John Taylor & Co in 1897.
