# St Andrew, Willingale Spain

St Andrew (listed as St Andrew and All Saints) is a Grade II* redundant church at Willingale, Essex, a Norman nave with a fifteenth-century chancel, vested in the Churches Conservation Trust. It shares a churchyard with St Christopher, Willingale Doe.

## Overview

Historic England lists the church (1169175, 20 February 1967). The nave is twelfth-century, with high semi-circular-headed north windows and a twelfth-century south doorway of stone and Roman brick. The chancel is fifteenth-century, with two-light windows and a fifteenth-century chancel arch grooved for a rood screen. A weatherboarded bell chamber with a small spire sits on medieval belfry timbers. The late-fourteenth-century octagonal font has quatrefoils and alternate roses and heads. A fifteenth-century piscina and an oolite altar slab with consecration crosses survive in the chancel. The church is open daily.
