# St Andrew, Little Steeping

St Andrew’s is a Grade II* parish church on Church Lane, Little Steeping, Lincolnshire, in the Diocese of Lincoln.

## Overview

Historic England records a mid-fourteenth-century parish church with fifteenth-century work, dated alterations of 1638 and 1701, and later restorations. The fabric is greenstone rubble with red brick patching, limestone ashlar dressings and some render, under concrete tiled roofs with stone-coped gables. The plan is a late-fifteenth-century three-stage west tower, nave with south aisle and south porch, and chancel with north vestry. The north aisle was remodelled in 1638 (a stone is inscribed “1638 WP RC”); a beam in the porch roof is dated 1701. Mid-fourteenth-century north and south three-bay arcades have octagonal piers. There is no medieval chancel arch. The listing notes a recumbent effigy of Thomas de Redyng, rector from 1318 to 1353, and a fourteenth-century octagonal font with standing figures under canopies. A churchyard cross is separately listed at Grade II.

The church is open daily from 10am to 4pm.
