# St Andrew, Fillingham

St Andrew on High Street, Fillingham, is a Grade II* parish church of coursed limestone rubble with slate roofs, in the Springline Parish of the Diocese of Lincoln.

## Overview

Historic England records a parish church of about 1180 and the mid-thirteenth century, rebuilt in 1768 and 1777 and restored in 1866, possibly by Sir George Gilbert Scott. The plan is a west tower, nave, rectangular chancel and north-west vestry. The three-stage west tower of 1777 has pointed open archways; within it stands a late-twelfth-century west doorway with a waterleaf capital. Mid-thirteenth-century arcades of three bays survive in the later walls. A church is recorded at Fillingham in Domesday Book (1086). John Wycliffe was rector in 1361–68. The parish council describes it as a festival church. Listed Grade II* on 16 December 1964 (NHLE 1359847).
