Overview
The Dictionary of Irish Architects records a new church of 1773 for Primate Richard Robinson, following Thomas Cooley's Design No. 10. National Churches Trust and later parish accounts state that it was consecrated in 1776 on land given by Sir Capel Molyneux and financed by Archbishop Robinson. The Stone Database for Northern Ireland describes a Gothic rendered church with stone quoins and cills, fronted by an attached three-stage square tower with octagonal pointed pinnacles and a spire, of Armagh limestone in coursed rubble with tooled ashlar dressings.
Northern Ireland listing HB15/03/020 (Grade B+) includes the gates and front boundary wall; the flanking schoolhouse and teacher's house are listed at Grade B2. That NI listing is noted here only; it is not an English or Cadw list entry. Interior monuments include work to the Molyneux family by Thomas Kirk and John McCullough; stained glass includes a Ward and Hughes east window of 1876 and later Arts and Crafts glass associated with Beatrice Elvery.
