Overview
Historic Environment Scotland lists Saline Parish Kirk (LB17029, Category B, 19 December 1979) as an oblong, buttressed Tudor-Gothic church, harled and slated, built in 1810 by William Stark, renovated in 1956, with twin doors at the west end, belfries at the north-west and south-west corners, latticed windows and a simple interior with a gallery on three sides. Scotland’s Churches Trust notes lattice glazing of 1905, a session house of 1819 by Andrew Cairns, a 1905 reordering by Peter MacGregor Chalmers (who steepened the roof pitch), further work in 1956, and a hall of 1972. An east window of 1984 by John Blyth depicts Christ with the symbols of Baptism and the Eucharist. The congregation has met in the hall since 2020 while the kirk needed costly repairs. HES Category B listing cannot be stored on the list-entry field used for Historic England and Cadw URLs.
