Overview
Historic England records a parish church mainly of the fourteenth and fifteenth centuries: nave with clerestory, chancel, north and south aisles, north porch and a large four-stage west tower with flushwork panelling on battlements, buttresses and base. Five-bay arcades; a fifteenth-century nave roof with arched braces; the east bay of the nave roof panelled with restored colour decoration; fifteenth-century aisle roofs; a fifteenth-century screen in the tower arch; some fifteenth-century bench ends. Norfolk Heritage Explorer notes a bequest dating the north porch to 1456, bequests to the bells in 1438 and to the rood beam in 1503, and a ceiling painting of angels of about 1400 restored in 1873. Listed Grade I on 7 December 1959 (NHLE 1155029).
