Overview

Scotland’s Churches Trust records that Fred McDermid redesigned the building in 1964 when members moved from the Congregational Union church in Balfour Street (1883). Communion furniture, font and stained glass came from the older building. The Good Shepherd window is by Harold Clokey of Belfast, dedicated on 10 April 1955 in Balfour Street and later transferred. The nearby former West Church of Scotland on Brown Street (J. J. Burnet, 1885, Category B, LB40068) is a different building and is no longer in ecclesiastical use. The URC premises themselves are unlisted.
