# St Michael and All Angels, Paulsgrove

St Michael and All Angels on Hempsted Road, Paulsgrove, Portsmouth, is an unlisted 1950s estate church by Thomas Ford, in the Diocese of Portsmouth.

## Overview

The Diocese of Portsmouth records the church as built in 1957 to designs by Thomas Ford. HIVE Portsmouth states that the ecclesiastical parish was constituted when the church was consecrated in July 1957, and describes a brick Neo-Georgian building on the slopes of Portsdown Hill. The parish history places the church on the mid-1950s Paulsgrove estate. The National Churches Trust notes an austere brick exterior with copper roofs and three murals by Hans Feibusch (Jesus casting out the devil, the wise and foolish virgins, and a heavenly host of angels). No Historic England list entry has been found; twentieth-century fabric is thin in the statutory lists.
