Overview
Cadw lists the church and attached presbytery (21499, 17 March 1999) as a tall basilica-style church by P. D. Hepworth, built in the late 1930s. Coflein and Taking Stock date the opening to 10 December 1939, after Archbishop Mostyn of Cardiff laid the foundation stone on 16 April 1939. The design is an Italian Romanesque basilica with an attached campanile, sacristy and presbytery, of brick, rendered and painted, under a grey pantile roof. Taking Stock records funding by Mrs Fflorens Roch of Llanover and wartime camouflage paint because the hillside church was a landmark. The parish website is ourladyofpeace.co.uk. The church is in the Archdiocese of Cardiff (now Cardiff-Menevia).
