Overview
Historic England lists a thirteenth-century and later nave and chancel with a fifteenth-century tower, much rebuilt in 1877 by T. C. Hine of Nottingham (NHLE 1045228; listed 14 September 1949). No church is mentioned in Domesday; the first recorded rector was in 1277. The tower was repaired after lightning in 1823. Hine’s restoration of 1876–7 rebuilt most of the aisle walls, added a new south porch, and renewed roofs, floors and fittings; the church reopened on 31 October 1877. C. Hodgson Fowler carried out further work in 1880, including resiting the late-fifteenth-century oak rood screen. The listing cites the medieval Perpendicular tower, Early English nave arcades, the rood screen, and Hine’s restoration.
