# All Saints, Iwade

All Saints is a Grade I parish church on The Street, Iwade, Kent, overlooking the Swale, in the Diocese of Canterbury.

## Overview

Historic England records a thirteenth-century parish church with fourteenth-century fenestration, a south aisle after a bequest of 1504, restoration in 1874 and a south porch of 1893. The fabric is rubble under plain tiled roofs, with a two-stage flint and rubble west tower under a shingle roof. The listing notes a blocked west doorway, Perpendicular aisle windows, and a c.1504 inner door of overlapping plank and stud with strapped ironwork and a ring handle of two twisted dragons. Listing NGR is TQ 90099 67904.

The interior has a two-bay south arcade on octagonal piers, four-crown-post roofs to nave and aisle, no chancel arch, and a raised floor. Fittings include a stoup by the south door, piscinas in chancel and aisle, and a three-bay Perpendicular wooden screen in the south aisle. Brasses commemorate Symon Snelling (d. 1467) and his wife Joyce. The south-east window holds a crucifixion of about 1504, repaired in 1840. George III royal arms hang on the west wall. Love’s Guide records two twelfth-century bells, the oldest pair in Kent, rehung for swing chiming in 1992.
