# Holy Trinity, Bilsby

Holy Trinity on Alford Road, Bilsby, is a Grade II* parish church of the fifteenth century with a mid-eighteenth-century tower, in the Diocese of Lincoln.

## Overview

Historic England records a church of squared greenstone rubble, red brick, render and ashlar dressings with slate roofs: a two-stage eighteenth-century west tower (upper parts in brick, with a wrought-iron weathervane), nave, chancel, south porch and north aisle. The chancel east window is fifteenth-century, of three lights, partly recut. The interior has a fifteenth-century three-bay arcade on octagonal piers. A churchyard cross is a scheduled monument.

The building was extensively repaired in 1841. A chancel slab commemorates Sir John Byllesby (d. 1640); his descendant Major H. M. Byllesby aided a restoration in 1918. The pulpit stem is described as the bole of a tree. Listed Grade II* on 3 February 1967 (NHLE 1360007). The parish is The Alford Group.
