# Holy Epiphany, Bournemouth

Holy Epiphany is a Church of England parish church at 46 Castle Lane West, Muscliff, Bournemouth, in the Diocese of Winchester. The parish site states that it is dedicated to the wise men who journeyed from the east to visit the infant Jesus.

## Overview

The Twentieth Century Society records an Anglican church completed in 1953 to designs by Ronald A. Phillips and Partners. It is not listed. The parish history states that after the partial destruction of Holy Rood, Southampton, in the Second World War, the Diocese of Winchester chose to build Holy Epiphany in Bournemouth rather than rebuild Holy Rood; a stone from Holy Rood dated 1671 is built into the wall at the back of the church.

The red-brick church has a plain interior with a high barrelled roof. The east window shows the visit of the wise men. A two-manual Harrison and Harrison organ of 1879, originally in St Mary Magdalene, Dundee, was moved here virtually unchanged by Henry Willis & Co. in 1954. The church serves Muscliff and upper Moordown.
