# All Saints, Great Glemham

All Saints is a Grade I parish church on Church Road / The Street, Great Glemham, Suffolk, in the Diocese of St Edmundsbury and Ipswich and the Alde River Benefice.

## Overview

Historic England lists a parish church of nave, chancel, south aisle, west tower and north porch, mostly random flint with stone dressings. The fifteenth-century four-stage square tower has flushwork-decorated diagonal buttresses, a crenellated flushwork parapet, gargoyles and a one-handed clock face of 1770 on the south. The fifteenth-century porch has flushwork, a niche above the doorway and an original wooden roof. The south aisle was pulled down and rebuilt in the 1850s. Chancel windows include a broad lancet and Y-tracery lights, much renewed, pointing to an early thirteenth-century chancel. The listing notes a fifteenth-century nave roof with carved wall plates and a plain thirteenth-century piscina.

Parish and NCT accounts highlight a rare fifteenth-century Seven Sacrament font (with a lily crucifix on the stem), an eight-bay fifteenth-century arch-braced nave roof with angels and twenty-four carved bosses (including a green man), and early-twentieth-century Powell of Whitefriars glass. Restorations include 1856 roof and tower work, 1859 chancel repairs, and 1878 renovations by J. P. St Aubyn.
