# All Saints, Gilmorton

All Saints is a Grade II* parish church on Church Drive, Gilmorton, Leicestershire, beside a scheduled motte, moat and fishponds.

## Overview

Historic England lists a fourteenth- and fifteenth-century tower with nave, aisles and chancel of 1860–61 by William Smith, a porch of 1897, and a tower rebuilt in 1909 by C. A. Bassett-Smith. Wikipedia states that the Victorian church was rededicated in 1861. Fabric is granite facings with Attleborough and Ancaster stone dressings arranged slightly polychromatically, a random rubble tower with a dressed-stone octagonal broach spire, and plain slate roofs. The unbuttressed two-stage tower has a crenellated parapet to the spire, wooden lucarnes and a weather vane.

Aisle windows are in a vigorous early fourteenth-century style. Wikipedia records stained glass by Burlison and Grylls (east window, 1878), Shrigley and Hunt (Lady Chapel, 1896) and Kempe (1884–1906). A place of worship on the site is attested from at least 1209. The church remains in daily parish use.
