Overview
Tenders for a new church to Cockerell’s designs were invited in January 1870; the building is dated 1871. The Dictionary of Irish Architects records Cockerell’s Catholic church at Fivemiletown alongside his nearby house Blessingbourne for Hugh De Fellenberg Montgomery. The facade has an open arcaded porch, a rose window and a statue of the Virgin in the gable; an attached square bell turret has a mansard roof. Primary stone is Tyrone Carboniferous sandstone. The Northern Ireland listing is Grade B, HB13/01/010. J. V. Brennan carried out a later restoration. There is no Historic England list entry for this Northern Ireland church.
