# St John, Fivemiletown

St John’s is a Church of Ireland parish church on Murley Road, Fivemiletown, County Tyrone, a Grade B+ listed building in the Diocese of Clogher.

## Overview

The Dictionary of Irish Architects records a new chapel-of-ease built for Margetson Armar in 1736–41 by Edward Kernan, consecrated on 28 August 1740. Gloine describes a Classical Revival chancel, nave and west tower of that campaign. Welland & Gillespie added a north aisle and west porch in 1863–64 (contractor Hugh Stewart); the church reopened on 19 July 1864 after extensive additions. The west front has an attached three-stage tower with a pedimented Classical doorway.

The building is Northern Ireland listed building HB13/01/001 (Grade B+, listed 7 March 1977), including the front boundary wall. Listing URLs for Northern Ireland are not used in the Gazette list-entry field. The parish is Fivemiletown with Kiltermon in the Diocese of Clogher.
