# St John the Baptist, Elmore

St John the Baptist is a Grade I Church of England parish church at Elmore, Gloucestershire, in the Diocese of Gloucester, in the benefice of Hardwicke and Elmore with Longney.

## Overview

Historic England lists the parish church as thirteenth-century with a late-fourteenth-century nave, restored by F. S. Waller in 1879–80 (NHLE 1340600; listed 10 January 1955). The fabric is random rubble limestone, mostly with roughcast render, an ashlar tower and stone slate roofs: nave with north aisle, chancel, a west tower to the aisle, and north and south porches. The listing records an Early English pointed north doorway, a fifteenth-century timber-framed north porch, a medieval south door, Perpendicular and early-sixteenth-century nave windows, and a four-stage tower with a fourteenth-century top stage. The parish is Elmore. Numerous churchyard monuments are listed separately at Grade II.
