Overview
The Dictionary of Irish Architects records a new church by Young and Mackenzie replacing the original Fourth Presbyterian church in Artillery Street, with tenders published on 24 April 1876 and the church opened on 23 March 1879. The contractor was Colhoun Brothers. The front is Perpendicular Gothic with a five-light window. The Northern Ireland Stone Database describes a Tudor Gothic church with a three-bay front: a gabled central bay with paired recessed doorways, a large tracery window above flanked by attached octagonal turrets, and castellated side wings with lower corner turrets. Primary stone is Derry schist, with Barony Glen sandstone (Dungiven) and Doulting limestone; the listing reference is HB01/19/059A, Grade B.
The National Churches Trust notes two stained-glass windows by W. F. Clokey of Belfast beside the First World War memorial organ, and an oak baptismal font presented by the Women's Fellowship in 1948 in memory of those from the congregation who died in the Second World War.
