Overview
The present church opened in October 1922, replacing a Primitive Methodist chapel of 1886 on Chapel Lane (that earlier building later became housing; its date-stone survives). Memorial stained glass and memorial stones from the previous church were brought to Park Road, including stones for E. Jennings and E. Reynolds laid on behalf of classes at St Nicholas Street Church, Leicester, which was demolished when the Great Central Railway was built. The date-stone from the old chapel is built into the rear wall; named bricks in the schoolroom were paid for at five shillings each. The congregation marked a 125th anniversary in 2011–12, counting from the 1886 foundation. The building is not on the National Heritage List for England. Services are held on Sunday mornings; the church is in the Leicester Trinity Circuit of the Methodist Church.
