Overview
Historic England records an Anglican parish church of 1851 by T. H. Wyatt, with a north transept added in 1891, in header-bond brick with some knapped flint and a tiled roof, in Early English style. The plan is nave, chancel, south porch and north transept, with a western bellcote of two pointed openings. The east end has three stepped lancets under one hoodmould and a trefoil in the gable.
The five-bay nave has an arch-braced collar-truss roof. Original fittings survive: pews, choir stalls and brass oil lamps on wrought-iron fittings. The font is by William Butterfield, given in 1863 to commemorate Henry, son of the 2nd Earl Nelson. West windows by William Morris and Company depict St Andrew and St John in memory of Horatio, 3rd Earl Nelson (d. 1913). Wikipedia and the National Churches Trust note that the church was built partly at the expense of Lord Nelson of the Trafalgar estate across the Avon, and that Wyatt designed it at the behest of Horatio, 3rd Earl Nelson.
