# Cautley Chapel, Sedbergh

Cautley Chapel is a Grade II Wesleyan Methodist chapel on Cautley Road, Cautley, in the civil parish of Sedbergh, Cumbria.

## Overview

Historic England lists the building as Wesleyan Methodist Church, dated 1845 over the doorway (NHLE 1384118; listed 18 October 1999). It is coursed roughly squared sandstone rubble with a dressed plinth and quoins and a graduated green slate roof: a rectangular single-cell plan of about 9 by 6 metres, with a small lean-to later added to the north gable. The symmetrical front has a round-headed doorway with monolithic pilasters and a stone plaque lettered METHODIST / CHAPEL / A.D. 1845, and matching round-headed windows. The listing describes it as a good example of its type and date. The chapel is part of the Sedbergh Methodist grouping.
