# St Bartholomew, Brisley

St Bartholomew is a Grade I parish church in Brisley, Norfolk, a large fifteenth-century Perpendicular church with a Decorated chancel and crypt, in the Diocese of Norwich.

## Overview

Historic England lists the church (1077461, 30 May 1960) as mainly fifteenth-century flint with ashlar dressings. The west tower has flushwork, a moulded west door and a decorative crenellated parapet. The aisled nave is of five bays with a north porch; the chancel has a crypt. Interior fittings include octagonal nave piers, a tall tower arch, and a fine Decorated and Perpendicular triple sedilia-cum-piscina. Steps in the north wall lead to a small unvaulted crypt. The village records construction between about 1370 and 1460 and a rector from 1304 to an earlier church on the site. The church is open daily; village information is at brisleyvillage.co.uk.
