Overview
Lincolnshire’s Historic Environment Record (MLI99274) records a Congregational chapel of 1846, still in use as a United Reformed church when the record was last edited, built of red brick with a gabled roof, a pediment with stone coping and round-headed window arches. Local history notes a schoolroom added soon after, celebrated at the chapel’s twelfth anniversary. The National Churches Trust description (now historical) recorded an entrance vestibule, sanctuary and hall, a front of 1846 and additions of 1899. The Lincolnshire HER records no statutory designation.
The congregation closed after a final service on 23 March 2024. The building was to be sold by the URC East Midlands Synod; Bourne Evangelical Church, which had shared the premises, later sought to buy it. The church’s own site states that Bourne Eastgate URC is now closed.
