# All Saints, Wilbarston

All Saints is a Grade II* parish church on Church Street, Wilbarston, Northamptonshire, in the Diocese of Peterborough. It stands on a hillside overlooking the Welland Valley.

## Overview

Historic England dates the church to the twelfth, thirteenth and fourteenth centuries, restored in the nineteenth century. The listing describes regular coursed, squared coursed and ashlar limestone and ironstone with stone slate roofs: aisled nave, chancel, west tower and south porch. A blocked twelfth-century south door to the chancel has a single-chamfered semi-circular arch. The west tower is of three stages with limestone and ironstone ashlar and a broach spire. Interior arcades mix twelfth- and thirteenth-century work.

The National Churches Trust and the county HER record a restoration of 1884 by G. F. Bodley, including medieval-style stencilled roof decoration. A 1994 watching brief during drainage works found possible foundations on a different alignment, perhaps of an earlier church. The church is usually open most days in daylight hours.
